Beef Goulash

A one-dish pasta meal that is full of vegetables.

Suggested meat:

1 pound raw lean ground beef - 96% or higher

How to freeze and cook:

  1. Add raw ground beef to freezer bag.

  2. Close bag removing as much air as possible.

  3. Freeze flat.

  4. Thaw overnight in fridge.

  5. Option 1: Dump into slow cooker, add 2 cups water, and cook on low for 4-6 hours. Stir to break up meat. Add uncooked macaroni pasta for final 15 minutes. Add additional water as needed.

  6. Option 2: On a stove top, bring sauce mixture and 2 cups water to a simmer for 15 minutes. Stir to break up meat. Add uncooked macaroni and continue to simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender (about 15 minutes).

  7. Discard bay leaves. May top with Parmesan cheese and serve with garlic bread or salad.
